From the Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator …
Today [12 Feb 2014], through the collaborative efforts of the private sector and the Federal Government, the Administration launched its Cybersecurity Framework setting forth voluntary standards and best practices to improve the management of cyber-risk to our Nation’s critical infrastructure. The Cybersecurity Framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology is critical deliverable of Executive Order 13636 – Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity signed by President Obama last year.
In addressing the continued and evolving nature of cyber threats, the President reiterated the significant threat to our economy posed by the theft of intellectual property. As we mark this important milestone in our Nation’s efforts to enhance the cybersecurity, we are all the more dedicated to taking meaningful and sustained action to combat the infringement of American intellectual property rights.
The President’s statement regarding the Cybersecurity Framework is available here and provided below.
