In its comments, the ASA discusses how, as a part of the FAA Voluntary Industry Distributor Accreditation Program (FAA Advisory Circular 00-56A), many aircraft parts distributors in the commercial aviation market have “developed and implemented robust receiving inspection programs and other quality systems in order to prevent the proliferation of counterfeit parts”.
