The main problem is that these forums adress the symptoms, not the issue. They try and find ways of evaluating components so you don’t buy counterfeit, but do nothing to address the issue of why you are looking at these suppliers in the first place
While the specific topics discussed at this workshop tended to focus on detection, topics also included more proactive approaches such as risk assessment methodologies and low risk technology insertion approaches.
One topic that I think deserves more attention is a data analytics approach to identify weak links and and risky players within the electronic part supply chain.
